DivingThe boat is available for charter by groups/clubs or individuals and we also run a mid-week programme of dives for small groups and individuals. We are currently taking bookings for 2012 weekends with quite a number already sold. Popular and well known wrecks that we regularly visit include the HMS M2, Salsette, HMS The Empress of India, HMS Landrail, Moidart and the Bay Gitano. There are also many lesser known and interesting wrecks. There are a number of interesting second dive sites in the bay including scallop grounds, reefs and ledges. Highlights include Sunset corals.
Angling tripsWinter angling can bring in many good quality fish when reef or wreck fishing and at different times of the year channel whiting, cod, pollack, conger, bass and bream can all be caught in the area. Coast TripsEnjoy the Devon and Dorset coastline, the world renowned Jurassic coast for a sightseeing trip. See the marine wildlife and birdlife and on some occasions the Dolphins at play. The boat can be hired for hen/stag parties etc. The Skippers![]() Rob started working on Blue Turtle at the end of the 2009 season and bought the business from Doug Lanfear in 2010. He is a keen diver with hundreds of UK dives logged as well as some foreign diving. He has dived quite a number of the local wrecks but ever since buying a dive boat has found little chance to dive! Rob had an extensive handover period with Doug so knows the local diving well. The BoatBlue Turtle is an Offshore 105. She has full MCA certification for operating charters 60 miles from any landfall. She is licensed for up to 12 passengers. The boat has recently been fitted with a new more powerful engine of 420hp (the old one was 320hp!) so the cruising speed of the boat is now higher. She has also recently had a new electronic chart plotter, fish finder and radar fitted. Blue Turtle carries a Marinox Oxygen Administration set plus spare oxygen cylinder Blue Turtle is fitted with a diver lift. |
